Can movement finish music’s sentences and vice versa? Who sets the tempo? What impact does the arrival of a person have on the ambiance of a room? To what degree can unexpected audience actions, such as coughing, phone ringing, or individuals exiting the room reshape the performance? Who holds the authority?
